Dr. Surangi Jayawardena
Principle Investigator
Dr. Jayawardena obtained her PhD in 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Mindi Yan of UMass Lowell. She then joined Prof. Robert Langer's group at MIT. She later joined UAlabama Huntsville as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry in 2017.
Unnati Patel
Graduate Student
Unnati is a Ph.D. candidate in Biotechnology. She joined the group in 2017. Her work involves merging functionalized nanomaterial with diagnostic platforms to create low-cost rapid diagnostics to detect pathogenic bacteria.
Kavini Rathnayaka
Graduate Student
Kavini is a Ph.D. candidate in Biotechnology at UAH. She works on developing nanocarriers to deliver targeted therapy to diseased cells and bacteria.
